Winnegamie Dog Club (Oshkosh, WI) - January 13
We braved an incredible snow storm to make it out and show one day - Saturday, January 13. Just Token was entered and she decided to make her debut in the "big kids" classes count. Token went WB, BOW, Best of Breed, Best of Breed Owner Handled, and an impressive Owner Handled Group 4 under Judge Dr. Jerry Sulewski in a stellar line up. She earned her first point at this show!
Great American Dog Show (Schaumburg, IL) - January 19-21
The next weekend, we stayed local and endured yet another weather situation - icy roads - Friday through Sunday at our most local show. On Friday, Risk and Token were both entered. Token went WB, and Risk went Best of Opposite and Best of Breed Owner-Handled, plus an outstanding Owner-Handled Group 1 under Judge Charles Olvis. On Saturday, Risk went Best of Opposite and Best of Breed Owner-Handled, plus an Owner-Handled Group 4 under Judge Judy Harrington. Token showed in the regular ring and went WB, plus she showed in the Great American Puppy Show Sweepstakes and ended up getting a Puppy Group 4 in an impressive, quality line up of puppies. On Sunday, only Risk was entered and he went Select Dog. The whole weekend was an incredible experience and I was so thrilled with my dogs' successes.
Cool Cluster (Grayslake, IL) - January 24-28
The final weekend was another local show where we endured some dense fog for several days, but made it safely every day we were entered! On Wednesday, both Risk and Token were entered. Risk went Best of Breed and Best of Breed Owner-Handled, and Token went WB for another point, Best of Winners, and Best of Opposite under Judge Dana Cline. A big day for our border collies! On Thursday, Risk went Select Dog and Best of Breed Owner-Handled under Judge Brian Meyer. On Friday, we had a repeat of Wednesday where Risk went Best of Breed and Best of Breed Owner-Handled under James Moses. On Saturday, both Risk and Token were entered. Risk earned no love, but Token went WB and Best of Winners for another point. On Sunday, Token repeated her day for another point towards her championship.
And that's a wrap of the recap! Token sits at 4 points towards her Championship and Risk is just a few shows away from getting his Bronze Grand Championship (and NOHS Silver!). These two dogs are just incredible and I am so happy that Kyle and I get to be at the end of their leads on this journey.
Now we take a few months off to focus on performance before we come back to more showing!
